Import/Export
Settings > Core > Import/Export moves the settings of TheBooking from one site to another, for example from a staging site to the live one. The file can also carry the data: services, reservations, customers, and the rest.
Export
- Open Settings > Core > Import/Export.
- To include the data, select Also export the data (services, reservations, customers and so on).
- Select Export. The browser downloads a JSON file.
The file does not include the settings saved with each WordPress user.
With the data, the file contains the names, email addresses, phone numbers, and booking-form answers of your customers. Store it and send it as safely as a database backup, and delete it when you no longer need it.
Import
- Open Settings > Core > Import/Export on the destination site.
- Select Import and choose the file.
- If the file contains data, confirm that you want to replace the current data.
Importing a file with data replaces all the data of TheBooking on the destination site. It cannot be undone: back up the database of the destination site first.
Same version only
A file can be imported only by the same version of TheBooking that exported it: a file from another version is refused. Import/Export moves settings between sites; it is not a way to upgrade. To upgrade, see Update TheBooking.
