Provider and sub-team scoping
Availability plans can contain multiple providers. Google Calendar uses account-level and calendar-level assignments to decide which providers a calendar affects.
Accounts
A Google account is either:
- Personal: assigned to exactly one provider.
- Team: not assigned to a provider and managed by an administrator.
Calendars in a team account
- No provider selection means the calendar applies to every provider in a plan that uses it.
- Selecting providers creates a sub-team calendar. It applies only to providers present in both the calendar selection and the plan.
Calendars in a personal account
The calendar applies to the account's provider. Calendar-level provider selections are ignored while the account remains personal.
Roles
- Source: opens availability for the applicable providers.
- Personal: busy events block slots for the applicable providers.
- Destination: receives a reservation event when the assigned reservation provider is applicable.
This model replaces per-service destination-routing switches. Provider scope is derived from account, calendar, and plan membership.
